History

"Balloons in the Lakes" and its sister company "Jesters" have been trading for almost 20 years. The businesses have always been a family affair, the founder partners are a husband and wife team - Jak & Mo Hirst - and they still look after Balloons in the Lakes. Jesters continues to trade with their daughter (Kelly) and her partner (Andy) at the helm, with the occasional interference from Jak and Mo.

• Balloons in the Lake District focuses on providing a balloon decor service centred in the Southern Lake District. We can supply balloon decor and accessories for any type of event or function and as the area is a major destination for marriages a significant part of our business is focused in this direction. By linking in with our sister business - Jesters - we are able to offer a walk-in retail service and an on-line shop and can supply balloons and accessories anywhere in the UK.


• Jesters focuses on the retail and wholesale of Juggling, Circus, Magic and other entertainers supplies. Over the years it has built up a formidable reputation for the supply of such items as modelling balloons and face paints supplying several national and regional companies as well as individual entertainers. The retail shop, in Ambleside is well stocked with jugging and magic props for amateur enthusiasts.
